In the first series, it was skillfully hosted by Jonathan Ross, and the second and third seasons onwards have been hosted with
the P&T: Fool Us a Hostess Alyson.
Each episode starts off with an introduction that explains the reason for the series. Penn & Teller come out and are seated at center stage, and hopeful magicians perform their acts before them in front of a an audience of live viewers. Following each performance, Penn & Teller privately confer while the host interviews the magicians. Penn & Teller then reveal if they know the method used to perform the trick, typically using cryptic language or writing down the method and then present it to the magicians in order to verify, so as to avoid divulging the secrets of the trick.

In the TV show, Penn And Teller: Fool Us magicians perform magic tricks before American magician-comedians Penn & Teller. If a trick cannot be solved after each performance, the magician who performed it is awarded the Fool Us trophy and a five-star vacation for a trip to Las Vegas.
