Qualities to Look for in a Foundation Repair Expert
When it comes to repairing your home’s foundation, choosing the best contractor is critical. Your home’s foundation is a vital component of your house’s safety, so ensuring you hire a reputable professional is important. In this article, we’ll cover how to choose the ideal Local foundation repair contractor for your needs.
Do Your Research
The starting point in selecting the right foundation repair contractor is to do your homework. There are numerous options out there, so you’ll want to narrow down your choices.
Start by checking ratings on reputable websites such as the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Identify companies that feature positive feedback and consistent testimonials from satisfied customers.
Verify Licensing and Insurance
Before hiring any professional, it’s important to verify they have the required licenses to work in your state. Foundation repair is a specialized trade that involves professional certifications.
Additionally, check for their insurance coverage. This is crucial because, in the event of damage, you’ll want to make sure the contractor is covered.
Compare Quotes
Don’t just accept the initial Company you receive. Instead, reach out to several professionals for bids.
Evaluate the scope of each proposal carefully. Look at not just the quote, but also the timeline and guarantees. Sometimes a less expensive option may suggest subpar materials, so it’s essential to weigh affordability with reputation.
Check the Contractor’s Experience
Experience matters when it comes to repairing your home’s foundation. Inquire how long the company has been in operation. A contractor with years of experience is more likely to address complex foundation issues than an inexperienced firm.
Specialized experience in structural repair is highly recommended. Inquire about any unique approaches they use, especially if your foundation requires custom work.
Check for Warranties
One of the most important factors when selecting a foundation repair contractor is the warranty. Trustworthy professionals will back their services with comprehensive warranty terms.
Check about the duration of the warranty and what it covers. A reliable guarantee will protect your investment and cover you if any future foundation shifts are handled without additional cost.
Choose a Local Company
Whenever possible, it’s better to hire a local foundation repair contractor. Local specialists have knowledge of your area’s soil conditions. This insight can help in evaluating the best Solutions for your home’s foundation issues.
Additionally, nearby professionals are readily available if any follow-up adjustments are required.
Go With Your Intuition
Once you’ve gathered all the information, trust your gut feeling. If you’re unsure about a contractor, it’s fine to select another option. Choose a contractor that you feel comfortable with and proves reliability.
In Summary
Choosing the right foundation repair contractor is essential to protecting your home’s structure. By following these tips, you can select a experienced professional who will handle your repairs with care.

The SSA Work History Report (Form SSA-3369) allows claimants to list all jobs they held for the last 15 years before they could not work due to illnesses, conditions, or injuries.
The SSA Work History Reports help the Disability Determination Services (DDS) to understand how your illnesses, conditions, or injuries prevent you from being able to perform your past relevant work.
Through this form, the SSA (Social Security Administration) determines what jobs you can do and whether your options are limited enough for you to qualify for benefits.
How Your Work History Impacts Your SSDI and SSI Claims
If you’re 49 years old or younger, the work history report is less crucial to the SSA’s decision to Grant you disability benefits. At said ages, the administration may only use the report to identify other occupations you can do with your transferable skills.
But if you’re aged 50 and above, the work history report becomes important in proving your disability and receiving your benefits. In said age range, you are considered under the GRID rules.
The vocational GRID rules are based on your work history report. If you stated that your job as a janitor involved mostly sitting down when, in fact, you were on your feet all day, this could potentially preclude you from disability benefits.
How Your Work History Impacts Your SSDI and SSI Claims
Skill transferability becomes an issue as SSA must determine jobs using the same tools, work processes, and industry as those used in your relevant past work experience.
SSA may struggle to transition you to other vocations when you’re 50-55 years old as you’re “Approaching Advanced Age” under GRID rules. If you’re above 55 years old, SSA may only offer you jobs you can do that are sedentary work with no transferable skills.
SSA has two goals when reviewing your work history report:
Determine jobs you can still do despite your illnesses, conditions, and injuries.
Determine if your job options are limited enough that you qualify for disability benefits.
Therefore, your goals upon filling out your work history report are:
List out your transferable skills for the last 15 years before the date of your disability to avoid getting unskilled, dead-end jobs.
Give a clear picture of the nature of your past jobs of the said 15 years to prove why you can no longer do them due to your disability.
The Importance of Employment Information Accuracy in Your Work History Report
SSA will use whatever you include in this form about your past work. People often make errors filling out this form, and DDS can then use their own answers against them, affecting their chances of getting SSDI and SSI benefits.
For example, a person could list jobs beyond the last 15 years or fill out the form like a job application, bolstering their old positions. SSA can use the faulty information to deny them disability benefits and prove they can return to their old jobs.
Tips for Filling Out SSA’s Work History Report Form
Here are some fast tips on filling out your work history report as accurately as possible:
Use your old W2 forms to help you remember your job history and how much you made with them within the 15 years before your disability.
Never write your job title; write the job that you did. For example, if your professional title is production associate who assembles air conditioners, you can write “air conditioner assembler” to fully show the nature of your work.
This is not the time to make yourself look better. For example, if you’re a salesman in a shoe store, you may want to write it down as manager. This will only make DDS mistake you for employment skills that you don’t have and may list down work that you can do that requires managerial skills.
A job is a job, even a part-time one, that lasts more than six months, and your earnings from it are above the substantial gainful activity.
Every job requires lifting, even office jobs, which occasionally require lifting boxes of papers. Include what objects you have lifted in your job description, and search the web for how heavy they are.
Never leave a question unanswered. If the question doesn’t apply to you, write “n/a” for not applicable. If you’re unsure about the answer, simply write “unsure.” This way, your submission will not be marked as incomplete.
Benefits of Working with a Social Security Disability Representative
Doing government paperwork can be daunting. Most people would rather be done with it as soon as possible. However, completing the Work History Report is one of the most crucial documents to submit. While SSA can learn about your health from your medical records, their only reporting about your work history is you.
If you do it right, it works to your advantage. If not, your work history report can work against you.
Having a Social Security attorney by your side can increase your chances of getting viable job options and claiming SSI and SSDI benefits.

Today’s RDH: Leveraging SimpleCert to Achieve Continuing Education Program Success
In the world of Dental Continuing Education, you don’t have to search very far before you will find Today’s RDH. Founded in 2018, Today’s RDH is a digital media and education Company for Registered Dental Hygienists, dental hygiene students, and other dental professionals. Today’s RDH has become a leader in the dental industry by producing and publishing high-quality articles, videos, podcasts, live events, and online continuing education. For Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer Ben Buzbee, the gratifying success of Today’s RDH also comes with that Business-owner-stress of needing to find ways to scale and grow his company, without being overwhelmed by manual work and lengthy processes.
Given its reach and brand awareness, it was a clear business decision for Ben and the Today’s RDH team to become an approved Continuing Dental Education provider for both the American Dental Association (CERP) and the Academy of General Dentistry (PACE). Today’s RDH currently holds live virtual continuing education events, in addition to a variety of self-study CE courses.
Proactive versus Reactive
It’s a saying we’ve all heard bantered around, and for good reason: being proactive is an essential part of any growing business. For Ben, looking through the entire CE workflow – from the initial coursework and marketing, all the way to distributing individual Certificates of Completion – led him to the realization that he needed a solution to streamline the certification process for potentially tens of thousands of certificates over the course of a year. While searching for possible solutions, Ben discovered SimpleCert. “I looked into over a dozen different solutions and SimpleCert was the only one that met all our requirements for what we were looking for, ” says Ben. “There were a lot of other solutions I looked at before, but none of them met our specific requirements of easy certificate design, easy uploading large lists of people to send the certificates to, and easy emailing & storage options. Every other potential solution I looked at seemed to meet just one of the requirements, not all of them like SimpleCert.”
Building for Future Success, in 5 days or less
Having settled upon SimpleCert as their Certificate Management system, Ben and team turned their attention to onboarding, and setup of their process. Ben estimates that it took less than a week to go from signing up for a test account in SimpleCert, to designing templates and then sending out their first course certificates. Having completed the set up process, Today’s RDH can now reap the benefits of automation, time saving and automatic recordkeeping that SimpleCert provides. “Once attendance has been verified that each attendee met the minimum amount of time to receive a CE certificate, it takes less than an hour to get certificates ready, realistically more like 20 minutes, ” says Ben, for an unlimited number of Attendee Records to be created, and automatically distributed to recipients.
Room to Grow
Automation can bring time savings, and increased efficiency. Increased efficiency and time savings can then be reinvested into other important aspects of your business. With the utilization of SimpleCert, Ben and the Today’s RDH team have been able to focus their energy into scaling Today’s RDH, and continually improving their coursework – without getting buried by manual workflows that are a byproduct of his success. “I can’t even imagine manually creating and emailing over 10, 000 certificates for each event, ” says Ben. “I mean that would probably take months when now it is literally uploading our verified attendee lists and sending the certificates out.”
A true Measure of Success
Oftentimes the true measure of a successful CDE program is not just within the CE Providers’ eyes, but also in the overall experience for the dental professionals who take their coursework. Here too, the Today’s RDH program shines bright. “People really love the [Recipient Portal], where all their certificates are stored in one place, ” says Ben. “Now that we are seeing repeat attendees to our events, it is very useful for them to have all certificates from all events in one place.” Using a professional Certificate Management System like SimpleCert has enabled Today’s RDH to provide a 100% professional experience for their students, throughout their entire Continuing Education program.
A 75% Reduction in Support Response Times
By utilizing SimpleCert, Ben estimates he has reduced the amount of time his team spends on handling support related certificate inquires by a full 75%, compared to the time it would take without the SimpleCert platform. “A lot of the questions revolve around not receiving their CE certificates or not receiving all of them because they waited a few weeks, ” says Ben. “I can then easily lookup their email in SimpleCert to see if all their certificates were sent and then send them to the portal for them to download all of them. Saves a lot of time from having to lookup each course and downloading each individual certificate to send to the person requesting help.”
The Path Forward for Today’s RDH
Looking ahead to the future, Ben is eager to explore ways to further integrate and automate his business processes. “I’m really looking forward to making Things a little more white label in terms of integrating directly with our website. I’m a huge fan of using SaaS products whenever possible because I don’t want to be in the software development business, ” says Ben. “I want to focus on our business and what we do best. Paying another company to handle all the intricacies of maintaining software is worth every penny because I don’t have to deal with any of the headaches that come with keeping the software updated and maintained. I just want something that works and I don’t have to think about – SimpleCert is exactly that!”
